Moondance

Yes, it was incredibly good fun making this particular piece, with its flowing, sensual forms and yin-yang balance of composition. I generally follow Delacroix’s maxim to ‘plan carefully and execute freely,’ thinking a project through in detail and then, when it comes to the doing of it, doing it with all the flash and confidence I can muster. So Moondance was unusual for me, a rush of inspiration seemingly from out of nowhere. I remember the glow of its inception, and count it as one of my favorite accomplishments.
