Color Study Number Three

I am in love with the human form, and welcome any project with a figurative focus. I stole the pose for this piece from a photo in a women’s magazine. I’m forced to rely on magazines and the like for reference partly because life models are too expensive for me right now and partly because I live in a small midwestern town. I understand Cézanne, living in the rural provinces of France, had the same problem; the nudes in his famous bather paintings came from Titian and Rubens paintings he saw and studied in the Louvre.
